1900 - He also appears in a census taken at another location one week later on June 27, 1900 as: "Bert Mc Kee"; working as a servant and farm laborer in a Bonhomme Township boarding house; birth September 1876 and age 23
(This probably explains his nickname of Uncle Bert or Bird).

1902 - As Louis McKay and living in Creve Coeur, he marries Susie Payne of Ballwin on July 23, 1902.

1910 - He is shown as: "Lewis V. McKay"; age 33; wife is "Susie"; age 26; working as a day laborer; they have no children; live in Bonhomme Township next door to "William McKay" on Snyder-Mill Rd.

1918 - He is shown as: "Louis Virginia McKee" on WW I draft registration made on September 12; his age is 41; birthdate September 24, 1876; wife "Susie"; working at the "Rock Quarry" and a employee of "United Railway Co"; they are living at 444 W. Adams in Kirkwood; race, white. His physical description is: "medium" height; "medium" build; eyes "gray" and hair "dark." He is also described as "hard hearing."

1920 - He is shown as: "Louis McKee"; age 43; wife "Susan"; age 36; they have no children; he works as a laborer for the rock quarry; they live in Kirkwood.

1930 - He is shown as: "Louis McKee"; age 53; wife "Sousia"; age 46; his occupation is general labor; they have no children; they live a few doors away from "William McKay" in Maryland Heights on Addie Rd.

The death certificate for "Susie McKee" states she died of a cerebral hemorrhage April 28, 1932 and that she and "Louis McKee" were living in Creve Coeur at the time of her death. She was born in 1883 in Ballwin, Missouri, her father was Daniel Payne and her mother's maiden name was Elizabeth Bradshaw.

"Louis McKay" also known as "Bird or Bert," died March 17, 1943 at Peoples Hospital in St. Louis of cardio renal disease. His residence when he died was on Meggs Ave. in Maryland Heights. His birthplace is shown as Chesterfield, Missouri. The father is shown as "William McKay" and the mother's maiden name is shown as "Amelia Tigert." Interestingly, the birthdate is "unknown" and the birth year is shown as 1875. All previous documentation indicates Louis McKay's birthdate was September 24, 1876. He was buried in Chesterfield. The informant for the death certificate is shown as "William R. McKay Jr."
